I WANDERED lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
(William Wordsworth)
Gone, but not forgotten. Only ruins remain of Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire (UK) but even the ruins speak of lives once lived there. And those daffodils of spring? Long gone. But not forgotten, and in time, they will come to life again.
To me, these “oh so English” pictures also speak of wonderful years living in that country. Those days are gone and have been replaced by a new life in a new/old country, but they are definitely not forgotten!
This time of year, all of England turns into a garden filled with daffodils. Love it! This picture was taken near Baddesley Clinton in the West Midlands.

Few things make me feel more nostalgic than being reminded of the most wonderful family holiday on the English canals back in the late 70s. And it’s not just the old pics – coming across canals and narrow boats anywhere will have the same effect!
